What is JMakNeeb?
JMakNeeb is an open source strategy board game written in java. I and my colleagues wrote this application as a part of Artificial Intelligence class project when I was studied in B.Sc. Computer Science SIT, KMUTT 2004.
Makneeb (in Thai is หมากหนีบ) is not quite popular board game like Othello or chess (I guess that’s why our teacher ask us to implement – to stop us from googling around
.
Goals of JMakNeeb
The ultimate goals of making this project open source are:
- Demonstrate how to implements Artificial Intelligence in board game using various AI techniques (MiniMax, Heuristic search, etc…).
- Make some fun!
Implementation Issues
This software was written sometimes ago in 2004, with JDK 1.4.2. The time before generic and other new cool stuff in Java. I have a plan to port this app to JavaFX soon.
